Lil Murray was the stage name for singer Eddie Murray. He fronted a soul/R&B band that included black and white musicians, most all from Warren.

The band included Murray,Roger Hatfield, Leon Debouse, Sonny Hill, Robert Jenkins, and Sonny Weston (drums). The band played locally in dance clubs.

In 1967 they recorded their lone 45 at United Audio. The A side was a cover of "Open The Door To Your Heart", a big hit for Darrell Banks. The group made their own arrangement, more upbeat. The other side is an instro, "Soul Chitlins"
