Felix Lark

Dayton, 1960-1980s

pic

Felix Lark was a pretty active singer in Dayton for several decades. He started as the lead singer for the Majestics R&B vocal group. In 1967 he recorded his only R&B 45 for Pixie. Although the article says he co-owned the label, that information is contradicted by other sources.

The 45 has a nice deep R&B sound and should have led to more recordings for Felix, but all we can find is an unverified gospel 45 and LP from 1969. The Jack Hart Trio included sax, organ, and drums, they were the house band for Dayton's Club Cairo for several years. We've read that Felix became a minister, which would suggest he is the same singer.
