the Dimensions / Five Dimensions

Ellwood City, PA, 1966-8

The Five Dimensions originated in Ellwood City, PA, with band members David Marinaccio (bass, organ), Jack Kondrasuk (lead guitar), Tark Kolch (drums), Alan Burns (guitar) and Butch Cox on lead vocals. The band played in the Ellwood City/New Castle/Sharon area.

In 1968 John Zedick, from New Castle, replaced Jack Kondrasuk. John had been in a rival band, Johnny and the Lords. The band entered the statewide Jaycees Battle of the Bands and ended up placing third statewide, in May of 1968.

The band 'celebrated' by recording a 45 at United Audio in Youngstown. The A side is a good moody song by John Zedick, "Hey Little Woman", backed with a garage version of "Summertime". The band's name is listed as the Five Dimensions but shortened to Dimensions on the 45 label. We don't know if that is a mistake or intended.

After 1968 we don't know what became of the band.
