Cavaliers

Middletown, 1966-8

pic

The Cavaliers from Middletown - a different band than the one from Washington Court House = had to travel a ways to make their one and only 45. In September 1967 they won a battle of the bands and were seen by a representative of Style records in Memphis - a label that released a lot of vanity 45s on several labeld. They went down and recorded a nice two sided garage 45 of original songs.

The band included Jim Wenzel (rhythm guitar), Roger McIntosh (lead guitar), Walter Johnson (bass), Ted Lovelace (drums), and Jim Brandon (organ). Wenzel and Lovelace were students and McKinley Jr High, McIntosh and Brandon students and Middletown HS, and Johnson went to Miami U.
