Bo and the (Soul) Metros

Cleveland, mid 1960s - late 1970s

.Bo and the Soul Metros were around for several years playing the late night shows in Cleveland clubs. The band was led by Harold "Bo" Sweeney, who was listed as the singer in a brief story. He was paralyzed and wheelchair bound from a 1970 auto accident but still kept performing.

The band made a 45 in 1974. recorded at Boddie. Both sides are raw funky instrumentals, so we don't get to hear what Bo's voice was like. The writer credits are Sweeney and Rochester Ezell, who was another band member. The band's name was listed as Bo and the Metros on the record, but the Boddie paperwork and the Call and Post story list the band as the Soul Metros.
