the Shufflers
Northeast Ohio? 1961
A 45 credited to the Shufflers was another product of the Manhattan/Patrice label operation from Cleveland. The A side is rock-n-roll instrumental that borrows a traditional Irish melody. The songs are credited to John Martino, not a name straight from Dublin.
There was a Shufflers group that played Akron area nightclubs around the same time, but they were billed as a musical comedy act with two men and a woman. There doesn't seem to be any connection. More likely this was a song poem like recording done by musicians associated with the label (Rikatones?).
