Possums

Plain City, 1964-7

The Possums included Paul Clark (drums), Jim Walters (rhythm guitar), Jim Harrington (lead singer), and Rick Trees. Paul was from Columbus while the others were from Plain City.

They signed up with Thom McAn Shoes to play some promotional shows for them - while wearing their shoes, as well as playing many local teen dances at the Reynoldsburg Skating Rink, Olentangy Inn, Lincoln Lodge, Aquamarine Cabana Club, and the Lausche building at the Ohio State fairgrounds.

In 1966 they recorded a couple songs at Larry McKenzies house, the home of Hillside records. They made the most of it, recording a tuff version of "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone" and the Byrds' "She Don't Care About Time".

The group disbanded when a couple members were drafted. Jim Harrington left to join Johnny Paycheck.

Paul Clark has fronted his own band for several decades, playing local shows around the Buckeye Lake area.
