Pepi (Pam Voiles)

Dayton, 1965

pic

Pepi was the performing name for Pam Voiles. She was a 16 year old student at Dayton's Northridge High School when she recorded her first record for Prism. The 45 got some good sales, it was one of Prism's biggest sellers.

The A side of the 45 "Hypnotized" was written by Chicago soul legend Jan Bradley and her manager Don Talty. As told in the Prism label section of this website, Prism co-owner (at the time) Andy Apperson had dealings with Talty and shared songs and publishing creidits. There doesn't seem to be any other recordings of "Hypnotized" by Bradley or anyone else

She released a second 45 that seems to pretty rare. The sound is poppier. The 45 seems to have been the end of her recording career. There isn't much record of her performing live.

Discography:
Hypnotized / Don't Leave Me - Prism 1920, June 1965
