Nite Caps

Akron, 1961-3

The Nite Caps - no relation to the Caps - were one of many pre-British Invasion bands that made Akron a rock-n-roll city nearly 20 years before the great New Wave explosion of the late 1970.

The band were students at Garfield High School, and included Jimmy Dugan, Jimmy Clemente, Don Lamposone, Jimmy Rinaldo, and Denny Richmond. The played many local shows - known in the day as 'twist dances' since the Twist was the biggest dance craze in the US for a year if not more.

The recorded a 45 at the Bryte/Brite Star studio in Akron/Newbury and it got local airplay and good sales. "Wildcat" is a good rockin' instriumental.
