the Godz

Columbus, 1974-

The Godz are Columbus' prime exponent of straight ahead hard rock, the hard workin', hard partyin', and hard ridin' rockers of mid-America. The band was formed in 1974 by Eric Moore (from the Capital City Rockets). After a tragic car accident killed two of the original members, the band became the 'classic' four member lineup of Moore (bass, vocals), Mark Chatfield (guitar), Glenn Cataline (drums), and Bob Hill (guitar). This lineup record two strong LPs for Casablanca (label mates of KISS and Angel) and toured the US. Label problems forced this version of the band to end in 1980, but Eric Moore brought the band back (with new members) for several more LPs and shows in the 1980s until the present.
