Garrett Williams

Dayton, 1958-1960

Garrett Williams was from Dayton. He recorded three 45s in a 1950s rock 'n' roll style. Searching the Dayton papers and internet has turned up very little info on him, no local live performances listed.

His first 45 is hardest rockin' of the three, recorded for Airway records. The songs are credited to Delmar Williams. Delmar seems to be Garrett's older brother, he passed away in 1969 at the age of 47, his obituary lists a brother Garrett. That's about all we could find out. Also credited on the record is someone named G. Adams.

He made a second record in 1959, the A side was a tribute to the tragic Our Lady Of Angels in Chicago school fire in December 1958. The style on this record is more like a 'country weeper'. The credits were Delmar Williams and G. Adams.

Garrett made one more, seeminly final, 45 in 1960. He was back in the rock 'n' roll style with "Motorcycle Millie". This 45 was released on the one-release Jeanie label, probably the name of a family member.

That's all we have for how.
