Five Quails

Cleveland, 1955-63

The Five Quails were active as doowop transitioned to soul, and like other Cleveland groups of the time they were connected to the Detroit recording scene.

The groiup was championed by Harvey Fuqua, to the point where Fuqua ended up singing lead on some of their recordings. The group goes back to arounf 1955, while students at East Tech high school.
