the Cement Chicken

Cleveland, 1967-8

The Cement Chicken has the distinction of being Plain Dealer writer legend Jane Scott's favorite band name, at least through the mid 1970s. As far as the band itself, they were listed as playing Tony's Subway In on June 30, 1967, in what seemed to be their debut gig. The band name shows up a few more times in the PD through mid 1967.  Rick Dearing, who played in later bands, was listed as the guitarist.
