Caleb and the Playboys

Columbus, early 1960s

Caleb and the Playboys were a R&B band from Columbus. The lead singer and guitarist was Caleb Talbert. Other members were William Gilliam (drums), and James Cole. There was one or two other members.

The group made one 45 for Olimpic, with the R&B shouter "See About Me" and group ballad "I'm Yours". To round out the vocal sound the Emperors did some backing vocals. The record was a minor local hit. 

Talbert, Gilliam, and Cole are deceased.
