the Black Flag of Anarchy

Cleveland, 1968-70

The uniquely named Black Flag of Anarchy (yes, we're talking '68, not '77 punk) were a Cleveland area band that from accounts were a crazed bunch that could have been loosely compared to the Mothers of Invention. They performed strongly political/countercultural songs such as the antiwar "Sgt. Jesus".

The group recorded some songs at Landen, but apparently never made it beyond tape.
