the Sensational Saints

Cleveland, 1970 - late 1970s

The Sensational Saints were the 'rock stars' of Cleveland's black gospel performers. They were a self contained vocal and instrumental group that used contemporary soul and R&B influenced music as the base for their gospel songs, most of which were written by group members such as Melvin Kennibrew.

The group recorded several 45s and a couple LPs for BOS and their own private labels. Some of their records, such as "He Knows My Heart", were big local and regional hits
