the Rebel Kind

Pepper Pike, 1966-7

The Rebel Kind chose their name to make a statement, as a band that played and adopted the Rolling Stones' attitude. The band never recorded, but played many dances on Cleveland's East Side. Band members Ken Margolis (keyboards) and later Jim Anderson (guitar) joined the Choir.

The Rebel Kind were victims of a notorious equipment theft arranged by Missing Lynx bassist Pete Stankovich. The band's practice house was robbed but the perps were quickly rounded up and became a minor cause celebre for the anti-rock crowd.
