The N Group were composed of Earl Jones (Hammond Organ), Jim Jones (lead guitar), Alan Garren (drums), and Mike Kinch (bass). Jim Jones and Alan Garren were previously in the Downbeats.
The N Group featured a soul and blues sound, which shows up well in their lone 45, recorded in late '66 on Wes Mar records. Both sides, the uptempo "Keep on Running" and the slow "Words of Love" were written by Earl Jones.
Jim Jones joined the Shades.
