Ruby

Hamilton

Owned by Larry Short at 1285 Parkamo Ave. He also had a recording studio, with a house band, the Rainbow Rhythmaires. In 1955 he was working as a 'representative' - equivalent to a label A&R person - for Esta records. By October 1955 he was on his own recruiting acts for the Rainbow Recording Service. He wanted to name the label Rainbow but the name was already trademarked, so he used Ruby, his wife's name.
