Rocket From the Tombs

Cleveland, 1974-5

Rocket From the Tombs are one of the most posthumously famous bands in rock-n-roll history, and deservedly so. Barely together for more than a year, they provided the foundation for Pere Ubu and the Dead Boys, with guitarists Gene O'Connor (aka Cheetah Crome)and Peter Laughner, along with singer David Thomas (aka Crocus Behemoth) and bassist Craig Bell writing brilliant songs that defined the sound of a new generation.

The RFTT story is told in great detail elsewhere, and the prime of their recordings (including a live WMMS radio show and demos) are available on a legit CD.
