Muthers Oats

Cleveland, 1965-7

Muthers Oats were a popular teen band from the west and southwest Cleveland suburbs. The band was known for excellent musicianship and a visual act that included props and skits. The core members were Jim Sikela, Dan Mahoney, and Ken Stauffer.

The band competed in the 1966 Cleveland Press band contest and were one of the top 5 bands, so they got to play a concert at Public Hall for a Teen Fair headlined by Paul Revere and the Raiders. Muthers Oats never released and records.

Later in 1967/8 the band broke up, and several of the members regrouped as Snow. See the Snow entry for more details.
