Mansfield, 1965-69
The recording stars behind one of Ohio's best 60s hits started out as the Chosen Few. An audition for Kasenetz and Katz got them a recording deal, and after an initial 45 on Attack that was not successful (despite its excellence) they hit big with their second release "Little Bit O' Soul", with Burton Stahls bass line (taken from a bass excerise) becoming one of the great hooks of the era. After many strange mechanations of the music business and original members replaced one by one, they morphed into the Crazy Elephant.
