Columbus, 1966-8
This King's English were a five member combo of students at North Columbus high schools, primarily Worthington. They played the range of Columbus teen action like Valley Dale, Lockbourne Air Force base, and an opening gig for the Turtles at the Ohio State fair. Through contact by lead singer Rich Wakefield, the band recorded one song at Hillside 'studio' (like all the Hillside recordings, the band was spread across a couple rooms in a house). Their recording of "Mister You're A Better Man Than I" appeared on the Hillside 66 LP.
