Key-Dee was run by three men, using their nicknames. The principles were Jimmy "Keys" Hullinger, Don "Dee" Jones, and Richard/Dickie "Dee" Flaugher. The label is listed with no street address, just the cities of Celina and St. Marys. Hullinger and Jones were in the Impossibles and started the label to record their band. One or two of the guys may have moved from Celina to St. Marys. The two cities are only a few miles apart on the shore of lake St. Marys.
The first few records were pressed by a short lived pressing plant in Fremont that used a FR prefix and the year as the first two digits in the number.
