Cleveland
There's a few different stories about Golden Leaf. The first account says the label was started by Ted Lawrence and Gerry Lee, with the first 45 by the Prestonians in August, 1959.
Another article from November 1960 says Golden Leaf was run by Don Lorenzen, an engineer at WJW. He built a recording studio and office at 3247 Tullamore Rd in Cleveland Heights. Other members of the Golden Leaf operation were Lorenzen's wife Charlotte as secretray and Rudy Smith, vice-president. Gerry Galer aka Gerry Lee was still involved as treasurer and business agent. There's some connection with Holiday records.
A third account, from Billboard, not the Plain Dealer, mentions Lawrence, Lorenzen, Lee, and I.H. Gordon as the prinicipals.
