Cleveland, 1967
Dick "Wilde Childe" Kemp was a WIXY DJ who was tapped by fellow jock Larry Morrow to record a song he wrote. "Get It On" was recorded at Cleveland Recording and issued on the short-lived Cle-O records in March of '67. Cle-O was run by Morrow's old friend John Scatena. The record already had guaranteed airplay and thanks to its use of groovy period non-sequiteurs like "Jam Up, Jelly Tight and Peanut Butter Right", sold a couple thousand copies. More details on the WIXY jocks will be added to the Radio section.
