Capsoul and Holiday were owned by Bill Moss, Columbus' most popular soul DJ. He started with the Holiday label and after three releases, took the Four Mints who released the last Holiday 45 and started up a new label, Capsoul, with them as the primary act. The first Capsoul label release was actually done by Moss himself, called Number One, which was picked up by Bell as Moss had also placed the Soul Partners 45 on Holiday to Bell. Not long after the first Capsoul release, Moss started up Loren records, described as a subsidiary. Loren only lasted for a record or two.
All the Capsoul 45s were recorded at Musicol, and typical of the times, had a collection of backing musicians uncredited behind the vocal groups. The Holiday and Capsoul 45s have become sought after items of Columbus' strong assemblage of soul music talent.
